My Dad's mother, my MeMe, died Saturday afternoon. She was surrounded by family as she took her last breath. She had been sick for several years, but no one is ever ready to lose a loved one. We find comfort in knowing that she is the presence of the Lord and no longer suffering.
My Grandfather has been so strong and such a servant to his wife while she has been ill.
Ephesians 5:25 comes to my mind when I think of my Grandfather..."Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy". What a beautiful picture of love my Grandfather has modeled to his wife and his family.
Please remember my Grandfather tomorrow during the funeral, and over the next days and months as he remembers and grieves the loss of his partner in life.
