I have gotten really lax about a schedule lately. It seemed like Abby slept the same whether or not I kept her on a schedule. Everyone that I have talked to about it seems to think that I need to try to keep her on some sort of loose schedule. Here is our "ideal" schedule and what we try to follow most days. The afternoons usually get off with errands and visiting friends.
7:00- wake and nurse
7:30-9:00- play in exersaucer and on playmat
9:00- get dressed for day (occasionally we get our bath here)
9:30-10:00- books/ play in room/ soothing time/ nurse
10-11:30-nap
11:30- lunch (starting on rice and solids)
11:30-12:30- playtime
12:30- nurse
1:00-2:00- outings with mom
2:30-4:30- nap
4:30- nurse
5:00-6:00- play time
6:00-6:30- dinner
6:30-7:00- playtime or bath
7:00- nurse/beditime
3:00- nurse (hoping this ends soon)

You have really put a lot of thought into a schedule! I am jealous of your organization! I was never that good! I just made sure taylor ate every 3 to 4 hours. By 4 months she was doing an 8oz bottle every 4 hours except at nights. She would drink a bottle around 6 and be down for the night. She was a good night sleeper but did not nap AT ALL during the day. Try not to stress too much about a schedule. You want Abby to be flexible enough to go with the flow. It is more important to have a routine. Routines are a little more flexible. Plus you know your baby girl better than ANYONE so naturally you know what is best for her. Go with your motherly instinct. You are absolutely precious and I love reading your blog!
ReplyDeleteHey Allison,
ReplyDeleteYeah, when I say it is a "loose" schedule that is exactly what I mean. It helps us to stay somewhat organized but I do not adhere to closely. Hope you are doing well and congrats on your pregnancy!
