2 months old
Hampton is two months old! We went to the pediatrician today
and he is 12 lbs 6 oz and 22 ¾ inches long. Hampton has come a long way in two
months. He still battles with pretty severe reflux. We have tried axid, zantac,
prevacid, prilosec, and now bethanechol. The poor guy always seems so
uncomfortable. We have even been seeing a chiropractor to try and get him some
relief.
Gas is still an issue for him. I have tried gas drops and
gripe water and neither seems to help. I have tried cutting things out of my
diet, but nothing really affects the gas. From what I have read, many newborns have gas. It should go
away as the digestive system matures and as he becomes more active.
Nursing is going really well. He nurses about every 2 hours
during the day and will go about a 5-hour stretch at night.
He usually gets his bath and last feeding at 9:00. His first
wake time is around 3:30 am and then around 6:00.
He takes two good naps during the day and will catnap the
rest of the time. He cannot stay awake much longer than 45 minutes without getting
really fussy. He will only nap on the couch in the den on his tummy. I have
tried numerous times to get him to nap in his room without any luck. He will
sleep at night in his bassinet if he is swaddled and on his side. This little
boy hates sleeping on his back.
I have tried taking Hampton out and about but he does not do
well in his car seat. In fact, he always screams in his seat. This makes going
places with Abby really difficult.
Likes: bouncy seat, watching Abby, eating, sleeping on his
tummy
Dislikes: car seat, outings, noise
